Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Scholarship Application

Welcome! We're so glad that you're here.

At Meisner in Music, we are committed to fostering a more inclusive and vibrant artistic community, recognizing the need to uplift and empower talented individuals who may have faced barriers in accessing opportunities within the performing arts. Our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Scholarship seeks to support artists from racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, and/or with disabilities who have historically been excluded from Western music and theatre traditions.

*Please Note: Disability Eligibility Criteria

As an independent performing arts studio with limited funding for scholarships, we must reserve disability-based aid for applicants who both meet the U.S. Social Security Administration’s (SSA) definition of disability and are currently receiving federal disability benefits such as SSI or SSDI. We recognize that not all individuals who identify as disabled or neurodivergent will meet these criteria, but this standard ensures that our support is directed to those with verified financial and functional need.

This includes individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurodivergent conditions.

The SSA specifies that a medical diagnosis by a qualified healthcare professional is essential, along with evidence of functional limitations that significantly impair daily living activities, communication, or social interactions.

We encourage applicants to ensure they meet these criteria before applying as an artist with a disability.
